Recreational Diving Hose advice

So I have purchased all my gear (I appreciate the feedback I got from this community on the different products!!). Now given that I will be setting up my regulator, I am considering to shift to Miflex hoses from now and just give up the rubber hoses, and I have few questions primarily around the optimal length of hoses.

I am 170cm / 5.6ft tall (average built) and only dive recreational reef and wreck diving with a dive master, nothing extreme. I use the typical recreational setup with a primary 2nd stage on a shorter hose and an octopus with a slightly longer hose on a single tank and wing style BCD (not considering a long hose setup for now) . I feel that the standard hose lengths are too long for me, so wanted to pick up shorter hoses, and after some research, I am considering the below:

Primary 2nd stage: Either 65cm / 25 inches hose or 71cm / 28 inches hose

Octopus: 90cm / 35 inches hose

Gauge: 80 cm / 31 inches hose

Also, for the octopus hose I see that Miflex has two different colours, glow in the dark yellow and "millow yellow", is the glow in the dark yellow a good option, specially that I will be doing night dives or am i better off with the standard yellow?

Would appreciate your views.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a half way between technical diving and recreational diving ?

Hey everyone, I'm currently a new diver and so far only have open water, advance open water and side mount courses under my belt. I just wanted to know if there was a half way between tec and rec diving where I can enjoy a bit of both worlds. On one hand I want to go slightly beyond recreational diving but don't want to go all the way considering the time, commitment, costs and risks involved and also I want to just relax as well. But my adventurous side still wants to check out deeper ship wrecks and caverns all in the light zone and with proper training of course. So what do you all think ? Thanks for your time and answers.

[Question] Recreational Diving Camera

Hi everyone!

I recently got PADI certified on Guam and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations about what kind of camera works well underwater at depths up to 60 ft? I saw some friends use GoPro and was wondering what model is recommended? It doesn't have to be the newest or top of the line, but something for videos and photos in decent quality preferably.

I have about 25 dives under my belt and a Padi AOW. I typically dive on vacation in tropical areas with a divemaster (5 dives per year). Should I invest in a compass? If so why? Any recommendations would be useful.

Referred from r/swimming. Ballast for recreational free-diving with a monofin?

Sorry if I don't really know any of the lingo, I just got into it. I seem to spend most of my energy descending or trying to stay beneath the surface and I'm hoping some of you have some advice for using weights to achieve something like neutral buoyancy. I feel like it should be possible, but the only weights I've been able to find online are either for scuba diving, which require bulky equipment to use, or strap-on exercise weights for wrists, ankles and the belt. Neither of these are very streamline, and they don't seem to be in the right places to act as ballast.

All I'm doing is sight-seeing, but tl;dr I'd like to know if there are weights out there somewhere that will help me stay down without increasing drag too much. I want to be able to swim around or just sit still with minimal effort, if that's possible. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for such a society in Seoul. Could you give me any advice? (Where, When, ...)

Thank you in advance.

Again, any advice would be appreciated, you guys are awesome.
