I'm going to be getting back to everyone in the next 24 hours. I'm getting everything pulled and sperated and making sure the people who responded first have first dibs.
And if anyone wanted pics I'll be sending those today. **
After working on the front lines in public health for 8 months, the stress and hopelessness of the pandemic aggravated an underlying neurological issue I have. Thanks to not qualifying for any type of paid leave or rent relief, I have to part ways with a collection I spent 3 years building up.
This collection isn't great but it really got me through the pain of the past year. I'm asking a little below discogs and the shipping cost (media mail).
I can send additional info via PM. I'm on EST so if you message me later at night I'll likely get back to you around 10a-12p the next day.
BTC/crypto, PayPal & CashApp accepted.

Artist: Pop Smoke
Release Date: July 3rd, 2020
The Brooklyn-born rapper, by birth name Bashar Barakah Jackson was the leader of a new wave of hip-hop on the East Coast, called Brooklyn-Drill. Most notably, this style is similar to the Chicago drill, but with more minimal and aggressive instrumentation. Pop Smoke famously collaborated with many UK drill producers and artists, combining the American rap culture with UK grime/drill culture and creating a spectacular and unique mix of hip-hop music.
Pop was raised in Canarsie, a neighborhood rich with Caribbean culture. His first video was basically filmed in a local jerk chicken spot with a few of his friends.
His first two mixtapes feature incredible production chops from 808Melo, Axl, Juju on Da Beat and Yoz Beats which created a distinctive sound to Pop Smokes unique voice. His biggest hit, Dior released in 2019 is by far the best example of what Pop Smoke is about. This song is a combination of different sub-genres of hip hop, predating to even gangsta rap when it was THE genre in New York. Pop managed to pull it off so effortlessly with a twist of his own style and uniqueness.
A lot of fans and first-time listeners managed to notice Pop’s similarities with 50 Cent. The charisma that Pop Smoke had at such an early age is thus of a rapper destined to reach the super-star level. When it came to music, Pop could switch from a goofy, cocky dude with a few dance moves up his sleeve to an absolute K9 dog on the mic suddenly becoming dead-pan serious. 50 Cent examples did not come out of anywhere, the 2 were in a good relationship, and 50 Cent was somewhat of a mentor to Pop Smoke during his short-lived career.
Pop Smoke died aged 20 on February 19, 2020, after being shot twice in the chest during a home invasion in Hollywood Hills, California. On July 3rd, his first official and Posthumous album, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon was released.
It is incredible to think that his whole career basically lasted for one yea... keep reading on reddit ➡

I’m sure it’ll be upped to YouTube soon but damno he basically said Dusty is gonna get his 5 minutes of fame and then people gone get bored and he’ll be remembered forever as the dude who sounded like Pop, and asked him to consider if that’s really worth it.
He also got at unnamed people who are supporting Dusty and who are appearing in his vids, but who turned down being in Obasi’s video including his one dedicated to Pop Smoke. For obv reasons
All seemed pretty fair to me
EDIT: 4min long vid
In case you didn't know there's a new movie coming out directed by Eddie Huang(台湾人descendant). It's about the story of an Asian basketballer named Alfred "Boogie" Chin rising to prominence in NY and how struggles with traditional values in a American society. Featuring the young star Pop Smoke, Bashar Barrakah Jackson, playing some kind antagonist, who was taken from my community way too soon. I hope something redemptive comes from that, I'm big on Asian and Black solidarity.
I just wanted to let everyone know about this one and for you all to support it as much as possible when it comes out.
