My wife has recently started physical therapy, and I'm looking for exercise-related motivational quotes from Homestar Runner specifically (the character, not the website). Any suggestions? I plan to cut them together in a highlight reel to motivate her, but bonus points if there are existing compilations.
It probably goes without saying, but the stupider they are, the better.
EDIT: Please put links with the quotes so I can actually find where they are from!
When I was younger, I had to use my family's computer for the internet. I would visit Nickelodeon and other flash game sites. Well, after I got off one day, My mother's girlfriend got on after me and a few minutes later she told me she finished the download for me. I assume it was a pop-up, but whatever the case, it was something I believe was titled: "The Green Box."
Inside the program was flash games found on a lot of websites at the time, and a few youtube videos that were viral at the time. One was the video of the news report on the police officer and his wife that "overdosed" on edibles. Another was a parody video of "we will use up all of our oil resources by 2012", but instead of oil, it was Miley Cyrus.
But the one I'm looking for, in my head looked like Homestar Runner, but I can't find a clip of it anywhere when I look it up. It was the main character of the video who I think swallowed a popsicle stick, and said to himself "quick remember your first aid training, (kneeling, talking to himself) Hello sir or madam, do you need medical assistance? oh no its not working!"
I hope that's enough to go on, Its all i can remember. anyone have any idea?
I recently lost my personal hard drive with nearly all of my personal files on it. Broke. Busted. Gone. RIP.
I loved using the old Windows icons for some of my folders, and as I rebuild I am now missing them, the download link on the site doesn't work for me.
Does anyone still have all the old Homestar icons?
I personally think its pompom
Think about it, the first season (especially in the earlier episodes) was littered with Homestar runner references, most of the early animations on the channel looks similar to Homestar in animation, The fact that not just the website, but their YouTube channel is more than 10 years old, which lines up with what Cary said, AND THE FACT THAT THE HUANG TWINS SAID THAT ONE OF THE MAJOR REASONS THEY GOT INTO ANIMATION WAS BECAUSE OF HOMESTAR RUNNER.
I could be entirely wrong about this, so just in case, I wanna hear who you guys think they’re gonna crossover with!
While it's widely accepted that the forthcoming end of flash is, thankfully, not actually the end of Homestar Runner, it does mean the end of quite a few things on the site that made people fall in love with it--primarily regarding it's exploration. So I decided to write down what I think people should do to explore the site in it's final days. Feel free to contribute!
Play the Games--This one goes without saying. While it's probably that a lot of popular games will be archived (I think Trogdor has been), some of the more niche ones, like Secret Collect or Strong Badzone will probably not be. I'm not sure about Stinkoman, so you should probably finish that one up while you still can.
Interactive Toons--Besides the games though, there's also interactive cartoons like Spooky Woods and Sucky Treats (and Halloween Funjob, which briefly has a Sucky Treats part). These are on YouTube if I remember correctly, but I don't know if there's a way to replicate the actual progression of the cartoon, complete with Homsar easter eggs, without flash.
Visit the classic site--This one, which is entirely flash, will almost assuredly go. The Chaps only keep it around for nostalgia purposes anyway, they don't seem overly fond of it.
Mess around with the Menus--Again, feel free to correct me, I'm not entirely sure which parts of the site have been updated to the point that they'll survive the death of Flash. I do know that I get the "flash" prompt (complete with the death of flash warning) every time I open a main page though. Seeing that this is the front of the site, and what most of us think of first, they're fun to scroll through just for the hell of it. Make sure you find all the secret ones.
Virus--This one will obviously survive the death of flash--but it won't be as funny. The DVD/Youtube version scales down the screen so that the characters can do all the funny shit they do, but it's just not as funny as actually seeing Strong Bad leave the screen right in front of you while Homestar rips up the links at the bottom of the page. This was a brilliant piece of flash programming.
EDIT: Strong Sad's Lament--This page is mostly flash, and as it's a super obscure Easter Egg that doesn't really match tonally with the rest of the site, I feel like it wouldn't survive. It's worth checking out though, if only for a surprisingly affecting reminder of what Sad and Bad were like as kids. (credit to u/valorguy)

So I have an idea for an... au? game? whatever? thing for omori, and it's based off homestar runner!
So firstly, lemme give the art design idea first. it's flash for cutscenes & (rl) battles, and sprites for overworld. Just gotta make sure thats defined. not the omori drawing style, the homestar style.
next up, geamplau! The Omori battle system is still here, of course. Here's a mock up of it.
So it's like omori in battles, but as for party, you get to pick! Each main Homestar character can be in battle! You have to have strong bad in your party, because he's the main friggen character, and homestar because he won't leave. So you get two spaces to use. Most characters have the basic system of emotions, ie 2 levels for happy, sad, and mad, and one for afraid. Homestar and strong bad have 3 levels for hap, sad, and mad, and 2 for afraid. also homsar uses his own system because he's homsar. Also custom emotions, mainly stuff like "JIBBLIES!". So it's basically that for gameplay, because overworld is the same way as normal, because of course it is.
Now for plot. So fist up, no pom pom anywhere in rl, because, as a homestar animation is called, "I [Homestar Runner] Killed Pom-Pom!". yeah pom pom is the dead one, because references are neat. So it starts, with strong bad getting an email that reads something like "hey strong bad! How about you show us around Strong Badia and the rest of Free Country USA and how everyone days go?" so then gameplay starts, we as stong bad leave the house, and boom homestar ambush and joins the party. So most of the game is spent in RL, and l battles in this happen much more than rl battles in regular omori. you got random encounters and the such. So each day goes on with plot and going around and doing things, fighting battles and stuff, and at the end of each day a boss happens (mini bosses during day too), and the image is supposed to be of one against the jibblies painting, and its at night because themeing. so after boss beat you can do some stuff, and then strong bad goes back to his house to check an email, where we switch to homestar, for the DREAM PART! which is in the marshmalow last stand (badly drawn) type style. and its like normal, except no basil like stuff happens because homestar is Homestar grief doesnt affect him much. so after dream boss go back to day, repe... keep reading on reddit ➡
My daughter and I wrote this quiz as part of the MIT Mystery Hunt this past weekend. (Had to write a 12-question quiz on any topic as a required task to solve a puzzle). How many can you get without googling or consulting the wiki?
Update: Fixed a few of them. No one has got 3 or 4 yet.
1 Which of the Teen Girl Squad members shares a bunk with an underfed musteloid at camp?
2 How many points does our yellow friend need on their Strong Bad rewards scorecard for the privilege of using the crisper drawer?
3 What equipment do you need to complete the goal of Dungeonman 3?
4 Larry got a complimentary coloring book while on tour. What hue would he use to fill in Sterrance's hands?
5 What beverage was the demise of poor Compy 386?
6 What restaurant was created by Strong Bad and the Cheat as a ploy to meet "chicks," but ended up as a successful establishment?
7 The voice actor for which Cheat Commandos character mispronounces the character's name by errantly inserting an extra "S" into the middle of it?
8 A character named after what Balkan country makes a brief appearance in the Malloween commercial?
9 What deadly technological mythical creature was mentioned by the Wireless Wizard?
10 Which charitable organization uses donations to buy breakfast cereal, such that the box tops can be redeemed for school computers, which can then be stolen and pawned so that firearms can be supplied to endangered wildlife?
11 Not including the preceding "The," what is the 2-word name of the Mascot for Crazy Go Nuts University?
12 This professional occupation should not be included in the lyrics of your death metal band song.
Needed a good laugh and wanted to give one a listen. Probably meatwad too. Both hilarious ad reads.
We just got our Strong Bad talking plush and my daughter is obsessed. Can anyone recommend some Homestar Runner videos that have easily accessible jokes for kids? My daughter is 6.
Yes, I know Trogdor is a good one, looking for others. Kid is now running around the house yelling Trogdor!!!
Homestar Runner/Letterkenny crossover memes started popping up on the FB shitposting site and it gave me the idea to make this. It was my first attempt at doing anything this involved, but I think it turned out pretty good.
