So, for the past week or so my Foobar has been causing my main HDD to spike up to 100% usage. I'm unsure what's causing it. I've been trying to read around online but haven't found any real solutions.

If this makes any difference, I have around 139GB of music on my PC. But, I've had more in the past and didn't run into this issue. If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it

Hello foobar community. I'm looking for good EQ settings. I'm not a treble, pop, jazz, etc. fan and the only EQ presets that ever caught my attention were Rock, Metal & Techno (not the regular EDM preset). I like rock and metal because they have good overall quality and the sound of every instrument is recognizable. I like techno a little more because of the higher bass even though the quality drops a little. All other presets sound like a gramophone, no bass and no quality. Can you please help me get the best configuration in foobar to get both? Thanks in advance.

Just got onto Foobar and came across a cool looking theme. I followed this guide. I followed everything up until step 3 where I was prompted to install some components which are needed to import the theme. I proceeded to install the components but the spider monkey panel wasn't able to be installed and it came up with this:

Failed to load DLL: foo_spider_monkey_panel.dll Reason: This component is missing a required dependency, 
or was made for different version of foobar2000.

After that I tried to install a different version of the spider monkey panel (an fb2k), which seemingly worked but when I tried importing the configuration again it comes up with:

The file was located in downloads so I tried moving it to where the original foo_spider_monkey_panel.dll is. It came up with the same thing.

Not sure how to go about this, like I said I'm new to foobar so it's probably something real obvious but any help would be appreciated. Cheers

one dude showed a screenshot of him being able to like a song on last.fm inside foobar2k with a button. i haven't been able to find anything like that myself. anyone know anything about it?

I know foobar is a test token but I’ve got a lot of these and wondering what I can do with the tokens (aside from collecting the NFT monsters)? Anything ?

I want to make backup of my "preferences", but I am not finding the file or something like that. I would like it was easy like import/export themes. But, anyway. Maybe some terminal way to make this backup?

I need to know if foobar got the capacity of drag and drop and copy to folder like, for example iTunes or MusicBee. You know, got some music on a folder, tagged and everything else, then select all the files, drag and drop to foobar and automatically get copied to my main music HDD and order by artist and by album (like in the pics)

And the other question is, there are any tool to make my own skins?

If you don't know what is Foobar, then here's a quick introduction. It used to be a secret hiring challenge from Google. But now, it's just a secret game, which is not only hard to get into and also hard to pass. It took me 23 days to finish the game. The problem at level 5 itself accounted for 20 days.

Is there a way to change the sorting order of a playlist on mobile? The mobile app seems to be missing a lot of features unless I've missed something.

1. Set the exe properties to use 640x480.
2. Start the app.
3. Freak out because of the low resolution and then calm down because Foobar is back!
4. Close the app.
5. The resolution will reset to normal.
6. Set the exe properties to not use 640x480.

The app should now be placed on your main monitor and is accessible again.

If you know of a better way to fix this, please share.

So today I got the Google foobar challenge thing in my browser. I know it’s pretty rare, so I started googling around and seeing what people had to say about the challenge. I am reading recounts of people with 10+ years experience barely making it though the thing. Now, I am a high school senior lol and I don’t think I’d be remotely prepared for something like this. I know 17 languages and I’ve made a bunch of CS projects and stuff but there is a lot about CS that I don’t even know in the slightest (I am not at all familiar with complex linear algebra and advanced algorithms which I would probably need to know). I’ve already signed in and I don’t want to waste this opportunity (and I haven’t clicked request yet for the first challenge), so my question would be if I can wait to do this challenge sometime down the line when I know more about CS. I’m not even sure if google will be doing this for much longer tho... Any suggestions?

Edit: TIL fluent was the wrong word (know is probably a better word). For clarification I can make a decent project in 17 languages lol not do everything ever in them.

sometimes the file is a level or two in like this:

[Artist Name]\[Album Name]\[Subfile Name]\song1.mp3

I have media player controls on the taskbar and when I hover on the app, but I was thinking about a small widget that would be above everything on-screen.

As the title says ^

I've started trying to have more control over the volume levels of programs on my pc so I'm set my speakers/headphones to be much louder and just have all my programs on a low volume setting in the windows volume mixer.

But this causes issues with foobar because everytime I close it and reopen it it will reset to the max volume available for it in the windows volume mixer.

Is this standard foobar2000 player behavior for other users? If not is there a way to make windows remember what I said it's level to in the mixer?

I am new to foobar, but i managed to get this setup. I would like to remove the areas highlighted in red, the album cover and the names of the of the artists next to the songs which are not on all songs but random. Help would be greatly appreciated :)

I like to sort my music on Foobar 2000 mobile by Album Artist/Album. Just wondering how does Foobar determine which album art is displayed for a particular artist? It doesn't seem to be alphabetical or based on which is first in the list. Just wondering as I want to set the album displayed for each artist to my most listened/favorite one, there doesn't appear to be any menu option to do this however.

I've got about 1.2k songs, but realistically only listen to around 40-100 songs. How do I make a "Favorite" playlist that won't disappear when I press play? Do I have to make a folder on my computer called "Favorite" and play from there?

Since elisp doesn't have namespaces, we often prefix function names to avoid name collisions. I've seen names like prefix/foobar and prefix-foobar, but I've never seen anyone do prefix:foobar. Why is that? I just tested it out and it appears to be a valid function name. Is it unidiomatic for some reason?

So we already have a YouTube component and i think there is also a Spotify one for subscribers. But what about Deezer? Is if possible to stream songs from Deezer in Foobar, like it works with Youtube? Or is it at least possible to sync Playlists from Deezer to Foobar or the other way around? Meaning: When I put some local file on a foobar playlist, it automatically detects it and does the same on Deezer (even if it might be a different version). Or when i put a song in a Deezer playlist, it searches it in my foobar library and creates the same playlist with matching files. Is there something like this? Because i like both and it would be cool to not create every playlist twice.

Like the title says: I downloaded some songs seperate and then put all the metadata in. Now if I click on the album, foobar shows the numbers in the order they were originally downloaded in, not in album order. All my other albums don't have this problem.

This is how it looks when i click the artist (both albums were downloaded this way). This is how it normally looks. I've been looking in the preferences if I can find an option somewhere that has something to do with play order but other dan "Default" I can't find anything.

Does anyone know how I can fix this, other than downloading all the wrong ordered albums again in the right order?

imo it's the best version just by virtue of being stable and supporting modding. all the devs should jump onto this version instead of using outdated engine of the original.

I´m reading through the Foobar Syntax right now, and have a question about it.
My Music Folders exists with Subfolders named Disc 01, Disc 02, Disc 03, ect. in it:

Artist\Album\Files

which is:

John Williams\Original Soundtrack\Disc 01\05. Journey To The Island.flac

The goal right now is that if there is a Folder with the name Disc in the Path, it should use the Foldername 3 Folders above the Folder with the Music Files. If there is no Disc Name in the Path, it should use the Name 2 Folders above.
In both cases it should use "John Williams"!
What i´m right now using is this syntax:

$if((%directoryname%,Disc ),$directory(%path%,3),$directory(%path%,2))

But it´s not working. I don´t know if this is even correct.

I have some 24 bit, 96000 sample rate FLAC music that I want to convert to 44100 Hz (and 16 bit) but I'm not sure which of the quality settings to choose from for just the resampling part to maintain the best possible quality.

So I was googling about multiprocessing on python, and suddenly a black dialogue box thingy appeared, I entered the challenge and was able to complete two out of five for now, will continue later.

Hi all, just wondering if there's any way to add my own stats to fb2k directly, ie the current scrobbles I have of the artist/song, as well as a way to add the description of each artist to a panel?
