Hi there Reddit, I've been a long time reader, but this makes me a first time poster. I thought I'd start by asking for help here before spreading out to some of the more obscure firearms communities as you all seem to be pretty passionate about this stuff.
When I was a kid, my grandfather gave me his FN Browning Trombone .22. It was fired lots throughout my younger years but hasn't been touched in a decade at least. Yesterday, I rediscovered it and pulled it out to disassemble and clean. I ended up only disassembling an reassembling as I didn't want to destroy the patina(blueing) is it still a patina on a gun? (Amateur Bladesmith here)
Anyways, upon reassembly I noticed one small piece is actually broken in two. The piece in question has been in the firearm (most likely broken) for years, and was most certainly still firing with this broken piece in. Now that I've discovered it though, obviously I'd like to replace it. And more than that, I'd like to be able to actually know what to call this piece. That's where you fine aficionados come in. What is this piece called? Where/how can I replace it? I considered just machining one, but I'd rather have something done by a professional.
Then, my second question is a shot in the dark. I have searched forums and found several threads on FN Browning Trombone dating, and Browning Serial numbers in general and they all seem to say that prior to the 50's, there are no records available. I swore my uncle used to claim this gun's birthdate was close to 1910, but all my research seems to say the earliest possible would be 1919, or 1922 for full scale production. It is manufactured by Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal, and the serial number runs from 39xxx. (is there actually any reason to protect a serial number, it seemed like a natural thing to do. hah) Any help identifying the age of it would be truly appreciated.

So we had the sound update with all the suppressors and the mk22 pistol, and who can forget the airhorn grip. But i had another idea. "The Music Update." New musical instrument melee weapons like a trumpet or a mallet for a drum with the FN Trombone .22LR pump action rifle for long range sosig busting. Turn the corner in T&H with a Union French with the trumpet barrel attachment on. A new shield that is just a crash cymbal. IDK thats where my ideas led. I enjoy coming up with stuff like this but its all in good fun.
Hey Guys! Long time reader, first time poster. My father lives in Georgia and has a pump action 22 that he would like to pass on to me (Ontario). I don't even know the first place to start.

Welcome to part 1 of our master plan!
Do we need much of an introduction to this song? Gerudo Valley from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an absolute banger of a song, and it sounds even better as an orchestral piece! This is the beginning of our quest to complete the entire LoZ: 25th Anniversary Orchestra!
Below is the sheet music for this piece. Make sure you grab the right part!

Hello everyone, I'm oboejdub and I've been around.
I've been wanting to throw my hat into the ring for a while and launch a project. I already have some experience doing this; however, usually I work with smaller numbers of people, so managing and co-ordinating a big orchestra's worth is where I'll be learning.
Many of you have seen my advocating for flexible tempos and different ways of syncing music if it doesn't follow a strict metronome pulse. Yes, eventually I'll want to go down that road but for now I want my first RSO Community Project to be something simpler and more easily approachable. Maybe eventually we'll get to Brahms symphonies, but for now, let's play:
###Antonin Dvorak, Slavonic Dance no. 6 in D major
I chose this piece because it is under 6 minutes, relatively simple, and it is a wonderful example of great orchestral writing that is approachable to all while still being a fulfilling experience. First violins get their usual challenge, of course. I played a number of the Slavonic Dances while I was in youth orchestras, but I don't think that I ever played number 6.
Don't rush to record this if you're still working on 3pi's Dvorak 9 project. That's a bigger priority!
I am using a live recording for the click track, therefore there is a little bit of flexibility and musicality in the tempo, but not a lot, as the piece is pretty straightforward. Please follow the recording for pitch - don't blindly stick to A440 if that's not what they are playing ;). I give you a quick tuning A at the start to help, just in case. spoiler alert 441, and it's a real recording so if it climbs a bit from there, don't be shocked.
Let me know if there are any issues with following the click track.
I recommend that you listen all the way through a few times with your part in front of you and mark in some eyeglasses for the moments where you really need to lock in and pay attention.
Grace notes and mordents are played on the beat, and played very quickly.
Below is the sheet music for this piece. Make sure you grab the right part!
Horns, trumpets, and clarinets, do you need transposed parts or is that something you'll take care of on your own? If there is a request, I'll start working on those while we give the strings a head start on the recording.

Y'all, I'm nervous. In this review are mod shots of yours truly and I feel like I'm about to go on a blind date with 40.7K potential love interests. Not that I expect every subscriber to read this--lawd, my ego is somewhat in check--but the potential is there. So just be really nice, okay? And don't mention how swollen my feet look. I might've been stress-eating Doritos today during a very intense work call and all that salt goes right to my toes, like a bloated ham fairy.
This haul is actually several hauls I've been sitting on because I wanted to save up enough quality content for a review, so my timelines/shipping cost/weight is a little all over the place. Sort of like my eye makeup today--thanks, SPRING ALLERGIES.
Vivienne Westwood three strand pearl choker
Quality - 9/10 ($16/ounce brie)
She is heaaaaavy but not unpleasantly so. It feels like good designer costume jewelry. The "pearls" have a nice luster, the clasp is wonderfully detailed, the stones are all firmly in place, and unlike many other multi-strand necklaces it doesn't do that annoying instant tangle thing. I am docking .5 for some loose threads in between the beads and .5 for the charm feeling slightly bendy. Neither thing is very noticeable and for $6.39, it's an outstanding piece.
Accuracy - 8.5/10 (vegan cheese, but the kind tha... keep reading on reddit ➡
Before you downvote me, there is a difference between 22 long and 22 long rifle. 22 Long is a 29 grain bullet seated on a 22lr case.
I ask because my new gun (FN Herstal Trombone) says that it is chambered for 22 long. So I don't want to load 22lr into it and wreck it.
I know CCI makes 22 long but I haven't been able to Google anywhere that sells it in Canada. Anyone got any leads?
I was thinking about this recently, or at least, I was recently rethinking about a certain question I've had ever since Team FNKI was first introduced in episode five of volume three.
Why are these kids at Atlas of all schools?
We don't know a lot about FNKI. Hell, we've actually only ever seen half of their team on screen. In addition we don't know a lot about Atlas either, aside from how it was formerly the Kingdom of Mantle and the military is combined with the academy. However, in the episode Weiss explains how due to Atlas' military structure, any teams from their school are expected to be militant, strict, versed in advanced weaponry, and employ well thought out plans.
Flynt Coal and Neon Katt are... whatever antonyms of the words Weiss said that you wanna use. Except for maybe the last part.
We'll start with Flynt Coal. Because he's
black the son of a small dust shop owner who went out of business, you wouldn't expect to find him at a school likened to more of a military academy or a boarding school for the children of wealthier families. And in person Flynt is suave, cool, and generally laid back. Not the kind of normal Atlas student you'd see with a posture as straight as a ruler and a directive to only speak when spoken to.
Then we have Neon, everyone's third favorite Faunus girl^(Deery is only fourth favorite fight me). She's loud, spastic, and has a really sharp tongue. Again where you expect an Atlas student to have a calm and quiet confidence, Neon is more than willing to get in your face with a tirade of verbal insults.
But more importantly, Neon is a Faunus. While the Schnee Dust Company is only a very small part of the country and it's inappropriate to judge a whole country by a few bad eggs, there's still a reason the Schnees are most closely associated with Atlas. We haven't really seen how relations between the Faunus and humans are outside of Vale, but I'd be willing to bet Faunus in Atlas would have the worst go of things.
We have no idea what the other two members of Team FNKI are like, but let's assume they're mostly like the two we've already met.
So we come back to my original question: Why would these guys be in Atlas and not any of the other schools who might be more accepting of them? Team FNKI wear visually bright and distinctive clothes. Most of the other Atlas students we've seen generally stick to whites, dark greys and pale blues. Very regal and official looking, but not very passionate either. Why wouldn't... keep reading on reddit ➡
This is Part 1 of a slimmed down Reddit adaption of the UA Wiki. This part will go over what has been suggested, proved, and disproved.
#USE CTRL + F. If you want to suggest something, do a word search here to see if it has been mentioned before, and preferably check the actual wiki as well.
##What is Confirmed
And that's about it.
The Sound (When MB said "Have you listened to them", this was taken as a most significant clue')
The UAs do indeed make an unusual sound. It appears to be made up of three main elements: The Honk (sounds like a whale noise), The Chitter (recently discovered to be a garbled morse code of the closest celestial body or station) and The Purr (When sped up x3 sounds like a trombone). There is a fourth element, a constant buzzing noise which has yet to be analysed fully, but also appears to have morse code embedded ...- .. -.. ---.. (VID8). Another theory based on an examination of the audio proposes that there is a continuous S.O.S. signal being emitted by the probe that can be heard on some recordings. On top of other audible differences, this last signal is lacking when the UA was recorded in HR 1185 B.
The UAs do sound very similar to the in-ship basic discovery scanner, along with some other strange noises that could be similar to galactic noises heard in the galactic map or in space.
The sound changed noticeably from v1.2 to v1.3. Similar but different. Tests ongoing.
Various sound recordings from different locations and pilots were fed into a Slow Scan TV decoder, no coherent images were produced. If there is SSTV data stored within the sound it is distorted beyond easy recovery.
He moaned in pain as he opened his eyes. Lying on top of the Admiral in Chief, Red rolled if body of beside him. The Admiral was finally coming too as well. They both rubbed the drywall dust and more off of their faces and rubbed their red and teary eyes. It felt as though thousands of tiny needles were scratching the insides of Red’s eyes, but he didn’t pay much attention to it, focusing more or the giant gash that had slit itself along his shoulder and armpit. Fragments of metal and drywall punctured his uniform into his flesh. Warm blood streamed down his back and legs. He yelped in pain as he accidently rolled over on his wound. Murphy slowly tired to stand up and brushed his clothes off. Noticing Red laying on the floor in the forming pool of blood, he seemingly jumped back in alarm.
“R-Red? Son, are you okay!?” he questioned, stammering as he kneeled down and turned Red over. He unbuttoned his coat and pulled off his white collar shirt he wore underneath. He placed it beside him and tore Red’s shirt. He squeezed hold of the shrapnel in Red’s back and yanked it out.
“AAAAAAAGHH FUCK WHAT THE HELL!” Red squealed at the top of his lungs. More blood bubbled out of the gaping holes that were left all over the Admiral’s own clothes.
As Murphy twisted the shirt up tight and pressed it firmly to the open wound. Dropping the crimson skewers of shrapnel on the now rubbled floor, he tied the sleeves of the shirt under Red’s other armpit and struggle to lift Red up in his arms.
“Don’t worry son, don’t worry, don’t worry…” He soothed to Red, who gasped for air while tears streamed down is blooded and dirtied face. “I’ll get you out of this predicament.” The old man wheezed and strained as he stumbled his way out of the building.
Admiral Murphy carried Red outside into the night, stepping over the shards of glass from the shattered windows. As Red regained his senses, He pushed off from the Admiral and tried to hobble beside him. The Admiral helped his back on his feet, not fighting Red’s attempt to stand on his own. The two men walked till they were about 200 feet from the conference center along the side walk. Strings of cars parked along the street had their windows cracked and dust and debris caked over them. Behind them, the convention center was in flames; windows gapping mouths with plumes of smoke billowing out and fading into the sky.
