Little background: My (half-)sister (let’s call her Eli) and I have different fathers. My mother and her father separated when she was 2 years old but he always made a great effort to be in her life and support her. My father was around for 10 years but after he left my mother he didn’t wanted contact, he paid no child support and I desperately wished that my father would love me.

Now my sister (27) and me (21) usually talk to each other over phone everyday. At the beginning of last year she meet a guy and they fell in love. A few months after it came out that his ex-girlfriend is pregnant by him and that she soon will birth his child. My sister was devastated. We often talked about how she could leave him if that’s too much for her or that she could accept the child and maybe it would turn out good. She decided to stay with him. But after the baby was born she told me that he didn’t wanted to pay child-support and that he tried to pressured the mother of his child not to try getting

It is 2021 and we still have people considered serious thinkers who throw around these terms. In the same way that we have academic people who believe in a god, we don't stop applying the same standards of evidence for their claims.

Nobody has been able to provide any proof of these things, and much like the god debates of the last 10-15 years. We have to meet misinformation with skepticism.

This is the same with the nebulous ideas of racism being systemic or white people having a privilege. For fear of backlash, this isn't questioned, we aren't getting good answers, and the concepts carry on unchallenged. This is how bad ideas are allowed to grow and fester in society.

Baklava is definitely the most popular dessert in the Middle East, with dozens of different shapes, sizes and fillings of baklava, it begs the question - has anyone made a "savoury Baklava"? More than being a recipe, Goulash or Borek is a cooking technique that can be applied to any filling you can think of. The result is an extremely crispy pastry filled with a delicious savoury centre.

Clarification on this post as in an earlier reply today: "This post was more an expression of my disgust with the symbols they thoughtlessly choose, and the lack of sustained critical thinking that many of their choices, including this, exhibit."

My frustration was that the signs of their outward culture look a whole lot like signs some of us share in our gun culture (not exclusive to the Punisher logo), but the ultimate manifestation of those signs in their mind is a tacit license to take liberty from all of us for their own perceived benefit.

IT is no secret that some youtubers are heavily invested in clickbaiting/spreading misinformation - not only on Genshin. The best tool we have to stop it (aside from obviously clearing up the misinformation - "yeah, Ganyu is a DeePS... Look at his attack/frames...) is stopping giving those guys free publicity.

When you call them out by name, a naive lurker could go:

• "Who is X? Oh he's actually cool and edgy! Reddit are hatterzzz and loosers."

And then he will proceed to spread misinformation elsewhere and advertise for said youtuber.

Give publicity to the ones that are actually helpful, forget about the people trying to milk the youtube algorithm - they are on a quest of their own (money) and that's not a felony/crime, if anything, hate the YouTube system that promotes garbabge.

Let's focus on good youtubers and actual game content because what most people are doing is actually "off topic" when it comes to real information. It's an attempt to game the youtube system.

Full disclosure: I am an an atheist. I've just often seen other atheists make claims like "I will believe in God when you provide me with scientific evidence for his existence.", and I want to argue why I think such demands are nonsensical. Now my argument:

Science deals with empirical reality. A scientific question is thus one about an empirical proposition. E.g.: "Green cows exist" is an empirical proposition. And "Do green cows exist?" is a scientific question.

To claim (EDIT: transcendental) God exists, however, is not an empirical proposition. It is a metaphysical one. If God exists, then he does not exists 'somewhere in the world', but outside our empirical realm all together. He would exist in a transcendental realm that we can supposedly only reach when we die and leave the empirical realm. To ask for scientific proof for God thus does not make any sense, because you're asking a scientific question about a metaphysical proposition.
