Got my FE yesterday (sorry guys), and it has what I consider bad coil whine. I have never heard GPU coil wine, my last GPUs were 970 and 980, no idea how common this is with more modern cards.

I have experimented a lot. Power, frequencies, etc. The biggest factor is frame rate, does that make sense?? Below 60fps it's totally manageable. But around 120 its bad, and the pitch changes at different frequencies.. 600fps in civ 6(min resolution) was a weird staticy sound.

I havent tried a ton of games, most default to vsync 60fps(60hz monitor). In 3dmark it actually wasn't that noticeable. When the fan is about 50% it drowns it out a bit (this is a loud ass card y'all).

My endgame is to upgrade to a gsync monitor with 120-160hz soon. But this really worries me.

1. Is this common? 10% of cards, 25%, 50?
2. Will certain models be more prone based on components used?
3. Any settings I can try to play with for this? Is frame rate really gonna be the main factor?
4. What are the odds a different PSU will affect this? I am using a new Antec Earthwatts Gold EA750G. Not a top brand like they were 10-20 years ago, but it was reasonable price and figured it would do. Worth getting another PSU off amazon / bestbuy to try and return if it doesnt help?

So many different pods, they all come onto market, and then fade away, perhaps its just another way that manufacturers get you to buy revision after revision however that didnt stop tank, rda, etc sales. I think it would start a much better coil war.

So, I was lucky to get 3080FE from Nvidia and spent last weekend tuning it. My card has an audible coil whine on the stock settings and the fans were getting pretty loud when it's hitting 100% load. My goal was to reduce coil whine and to bring fan speeds under 55% (that's the threshold when they become audible in FD Meshify S2). After a couple of hours of testing, I came up with the following presets:

Fast preset performs better than stock in every way while cool preset makes the card a lot more power-efficient and completely eliminates coil whine. I also checked +500MHz and -500MHz memory settings and they do not seem to change performance much, so I left it on default settings. Personally, I'll be using cool preset unless some super demanding game comes out where a small increase in performance makes a difference.

I ran some tests using games with built-in benchmarks. All tests were ran using best quality video settings and 3440x1440 resolution with Ryzen 2700x CPU and 32Gb 2933MHz RAM.

Metro: Exodus

In Metro: Exodus there was a 2-3 FPS difference between cool and fast presets. Cool preset used 60-80W less power while keeping fans under 50%.

I’ve used a lot of different heavies in quickplay and comp, and these seem to be by far the most consistent for me, aside from hammerhead which is getting sunset soon. Which of these two would be better though? Is it just personal choice(I think I like black talon a biiit better), or is there one weapon that’s better?

And if so mind sharing the model and whatever name of PSU you have?

I recently noticed that Windranger does not "spin" while using Eul's on herself if you have the arcana equipped. When you use Eul's on yourself with any other hero (or the arcana unequipped), you can see the little indicator circle on the ground moving.

This actually affects your position and can be used to dodge the snap of Puck's Dream Coil, if you use it very close to max range. The tiny movement of Eul's pushes you out of Dream Coil's range, triggering the stun, but since you're invulnerable, you "dodge" it.

I tried this trick over and over again in demo mode, but I can't get it to work with Windranger Arcana, while I can usually pull it off after a few tries.

Can anyone confirm this or has anyone experienced this themselves?

What would your decision be and why?

I keep being pulled aside at the airport for setting off the metal detectors, I can’t think of what this would be other than my copper coil. I know it’s unlikely, but is it possible?

Edit: it is very likely the horrifically cheap underwire bra I have the more I think about it, but interested to see if the coil has been a problem for anyone.

I can't remember the fic, but Taylor was on console when baked started going ham and the only thing that stopped the prts destruction was Thomas coordinating the strike teams and protectorate into a guerilla warfare army that whooped ass. Costa brown was there too, and caught on to Calvert directing "Strike teams that didn't exist" aka his mercs. Everyone was impressed, but he still got caught for it. I want to see more of coil going absolutely balls to the wall badass as well as that fic name so I can read the scene again :)

I just recently bought an RDA (had tanks before), so I'm still learning how things work. I bought a 6 in 1 kit from Geek Vape, but I don't think they're very good. I tried the Clapception one (awful ramp up and very high wattage) and the alpha braid one (which is much better, but I still think it's probably not great).

I'm looking to buy a better coil now and I see that A LOT of people recommend Badazd's coils. Could you guys recommend one of his coils to me?

I'm looking for a coil that has a quick ramp up, produces a decent amount of vapor, and has great flavor. Preferably not at hight wattages (I'd like to stay below 70w).

This is what I have: Drop Dead RDA (using 2 coils) Smok X-Priv Firebolt cotton

Trying to decide whether to stock up on those too but I just spent so much money on juice that it’s a really painful thought.

So I tried a couple of newer RTAs in the past two months (Revolver, Gear, Aromamizer Lite, to name a few) and while they weren't terrible, I wasn't too excited about them either.
So after quite a break, I used my Ammit again today and damn, is it good! It's so flavorful! It's pretty much the perfect vape for me.
Is there any single coil RTA a fellow Ammit fan switched to that is at least as good, offers the same ease of use and has a similar capacity?
