Really popular with the East Asian community and now loved by pretty much everyone. I could never understand the hype around this.
My main problem is, (with the exception of Soup) I do not like solids in my liquids. The solids in bubble tea (tapioca) are so nasty how people stomach this stuff is beyond me. And the amount of calories in your average bubble tea drink is way too high for it to be an everyday drink. I’m sure there are better alternatives to this monstrosity.
Anyways that’s just my opinion. If you love it, you love it. You do you boo.
I feel obliged to share my reviews so ppl can stay away from bad places, i've tried quit a lot so far:
1- Latea - Dubai Mall (5/10) - Absolutely mediocre, 25dirhams, not worth the price tag at all
2- Booba - Dubai Mall (5.5/10) - Very average, 30 dirhams, not worth the price tag at all
3- Mihbash - AlBarsha (10/10) - Honestly one of the best bubble tea store I've ever tried, 25 dirhams, VERY WORTH the price tag but its on the more expensive side
4- Super Bowl Asian Cafe - JLT (7/10) - It's okay.... not the best - 10 dirhams - very worth for the price tag
5- The Hub 7 - JLT (6/10) - Awful tea flavor, only good thing is they put a lot of boba - 15 dirhams - not worth at all
6- Bubee - Sahara Centre Mall (1000/10) - The flavor is immaculate and one of the best - 11 dirhams - EXTREMELY WORTH, one of the cheapest and best bubble teas i've tried
7- Chatime - Karma (6.5/10) - It's fine... - 30 dirhams - not worth and would never pay for it
8- Meet Fresh Bubble Tea - delivery only (6.5/10) - its whatever.. - 13 dirhams - its cheap but bad
TL:DR, If you want something in Dubai, Mihbash is the best but on the more expensive side
If you don't mind going all the way to Sharjah/live close there, Bubee is absolutely the best, amazing bubble tea and extremely cheap
Hi! I (26F) moved to Astoria (from Manhattan) mid-pandemic and am interested in getting to know some fellow WoC neighbors who may or may not share an interest in intersectional feminism, progressive/leftist politics, documentaries, reading, going on walks, food etc.
If there's any interest, we could plan a picnic. If there's already a group for this, could someone add me? Thanks :)
Edit: Thanks for the award and wanted to add I'm fully vaccinated!

Anyone know a good bubble tea place in Muscat? Tried a few places and they were bad :/ maybe there’s a hidden gem somewhere ?
a guy from my year lvl asked me out recently, and bc i have literally no social life, i said yes. we’re going to eat and get bubble tea (HUGE fear food) and i’m gonna just enjoy it.
i’m scared and honestly worried i’ll end up binging later tonight but i’m hoping for the best. maybe i’ll be able to have what i want and still eat a normal dinner.
i’m kinda happy i’m taking a small step by myself !
It surprises me that non dairy bubble tea is so hard to find since these days there’s so many non dairy options. Any recommended locations?
So I just had bubble tea for the first time today and found it to be absolutely disgusting. I mean, how can people drink the stuff? The texture, the taste, everything about it just made me instantly regret buying it. I’ve heard lots of people over the years say it’s delicious but I have to disagree.
I am making a list of the best ones, mainly in the US/UK
So far the only ones I know of are:
Any recommendations are appreciated ❤️🙏
I’m addicted. Does anybody know where I can buy just the pearls? I’m trying to make bubble tea at home
