I see so many posts nowadays asking if their plant has mosaic virus.
Recently spotted some on my cacti. Panic set in. Then an experienced friend put me at ease saying most popular clones are infected. It displays synonyms occasionally and isn’t something to worry about.
As a side note. The isopropanol/ethanol you use to sanitize your tools isn’t killing it based on studies. Only a concoction of Virkon-s/hypochlorite and dried skim milk powder(?) Is really effective. And possibly dilute solutions of citronella or lemongrass essential oils.
It’s no wonder it has spread. It’s pretty bulletproof to the disinfectants we typically throw at it thinking it disinfects immediately. It doesn’t.
This is an important discussion to anyone who clones or has expensive clones or stock. It scares the shit out of me.
