Will post more as I come across them in the next few days. In no particular order:
I've had a interesting path in cars that I've owned, I started with an 07 Mazda 3, then I got a 2016 Mustang ecoboost auto before I made the inevitable switch to a 2016 Mustang GT Manual. Then in 2019 I got a 2018 Kia Stinger GT2 to make my long commute more bearable.
I can say with confidence that the stinger was the best car I have owned, but with covid and work from home indefinitely I couldn't justify still owning a large comfortable car when I was really hankering for a small manual coupe.
So I started looking a few weeks ago at NB Miatas and C6 vettes, but neither of them quite felt right, the Miata was too small and the C6 too loud and expensive (it didn't help the only one I test drove had a LOUD exhaust)
On chance I searched for manual Audis and found a 2009 Manual TT with the VR6 3.2 engine for sale an hour a way. Apparently it was one of three for sale in the country, I quickly set up an appointment to test drove it and I fell in love.
It's the perfect spec, silver with red leather and the top trim. It feels much faster than the 250hp it boasts and it is such a fun small car to throw around corners. The VR6 also has a much better engine note than the stingers twin turbo v6. It even has enough features and space that I can deal with taking trips and commuting in it if I need to.
The best part of all is it is so much cheaper than my last car that I can justify the higher running costs of an out of warranty audi.
Without further ado here are some pictures of my new automotive love: Ze Link
Hi guys, I own an Audi TT TDI MK2 from 2009 with 207k KM, I noticed that o consuming/losing some oil, it about 7000km I had to refill with about 1l of oil, is this normal? I had a oil leak before but I fixed it and now I can't understand why is the oil disappearing. I'm using Castrol 5-30 longlife Is this amount of oil consumption normal
I purchased a 2009 Audi TT 2.0t soft-top convertible about 2 years ago, and the fabric top has been destroyed by the Texas sunlight. The fabric shrunk and has separated from the rear windshield, so it leaks and rattles, and there's no way I'll be able to stretch it out. Instead of paying to have a new soft top installed, I would love to convert it to a removable hard top, but I have no idea how to go about doing it. I've googled it, called convertible repair shops in my area, looked up any youtube video's explaining how it can be done, and I've found nothing. I'm starting to think no one has actually tried converting an '09 TT to a hard top...
I have a couple options I'm looking into. Most ideal is that I find a shop that is knowledgeable on this topic, and a hard top that I can purchase that fits on the '09 TT. I have been unsuccessful in finding either of those. If anyone has recommendations for body shops that do custom work in the San Antonio area, I would love to hear them! If you know anything about compatible hardtop replacements, I would love that info as well!
My other option is to trade in my TT for an actual hardtop version. I am about half way through paying off the loan on my car. I know the issues with the soft top is going to instantly depreciate the trade in value, so I'm not sure if I want to trade it or get the top replaced. I love this car, and I can see myself driving it for years, which is why I ideally would like to keep it.
I am planning to buy a 2017 Audi TT, with 18000 miles on it. The car is costing me out of the door for 34500. No accidents, brand new 4 tires, 2 future maintenance included. Equipped with tech package, black optic package and sport seat package.
Is it a good deal and should I go for it ?
Hi,
I am looking at getting stage 1 tune done, which should add about 50KW, however, given my car is a 2009 model with this many kilometers, would this be an issue?
It does currently burn oil a little bit, needing a refill every 5 months ish.
Thank you
Hello! One day ago I noticed that my rear brake light was really dim so I wanted to change the bulbs Installed everything, with ease and when I tried to test it it wouldnβt turn on at all, not even the signals or reverse light (right rear light, the one I worked on) the other one works normally And if I try to signal right, the right light flashes much faster on the instrument cluster (only when flashing right) All of the other lights work, only the rear right one not. Saw a spec of corrosion on one of the pins but it was really minimal, can it be? Or is it some kind of error I have to delete? Can it be a fuse?I can t seem to find a fuse for that light.
